Diann Logan, communications instructor at University of Colorado Denver, and author of “Designs in Patchwork/30 Brigh: New Quilts for Machine Piercing.” visited mid-September to give a heart-warming presentation. While displaying multiple quilts she’d made with her aging father (mostly during his rehabilitation from a stroke), Logan brought back to life her “daddy” with his Southern drawl, captivating her audience with stories of her life with him. Not only were her quilts stunning, but her stories touched the little girl in all of us. If only for an hour, we were able to know what it is like to be fully loved and cherished by a father.
